Shadow in the DarkAs the world, goes idly by,  And the sun doth fall,  See his shadow glide silently by,  The greatest beast of all!   
He stands on two,  Yet runs on four,  As tempered and as calm,  He calls the black of night his home,  And the forest green his balm.   
Though fur is black,  His heart is pure,  And eyes that shine of gold.  A menace to those ignorant  Yet, friend to all who’s told.   
And as he stands,  His face severe,  Looking to the Moon.  He sings a song of centuries old,  A howl (to human ear).   
But now the Sun is slowly Shadow in the Dark
